I don’t really know why this re-record of In This Diary exists though because the original sounds much better to my ears
Yes. Admittedly I forgot about his response, but I meant more so from the listener’s perspective, I guess. I understand why Kris did it, I just don’t know if I see many people ever reaching for this version. Maybe I’m wrong
new version sounds really clean i felt the pulsing kick drum was a bit much to start it off, but I love most everything about it Kris' vocals (his delivery is soooo good on it), the guitar work on it I'll be listening to this one over the old one
The production is fantastic. Love a little grit and air in the songs. More bands should follow suit imo This was fantastic as expected. Cannot wait for the album
This version of “In This Diary” is one of the better re-records I’ve heard in the last few years out of all the bands doing it. Seems like a nice way to honor his father and put a b-side on the 7-inch. “Car Song” sounds great, exactly what I want from 2025 Ataris. I’ve gotta go back to So Long Astoria and Blue Skies, Broken Hearts. Those records are pure summer for me.
Love the production. Sounds like midwestern summers. Even if the sole reason (it's not) for the re-record was to make more money from it, I would say that's reason enough. Give great songwriters/artists more money.
"Car Song" is so great. Exactly what I was hoping for from a new Ataris song. I know they're playing SLA at Riot Fest but I hope they squeeze this into the set too.
The production is awesome. Song is 10/10, no notes for me. New and beautifully nostalgic at the same time. Looking forward to the album so much.
I love the production. It's a breath of fresh air compared to all the modern recording techniques we hear in this genre. Reminds me of old Gaslight Anthem.
