I feel like a true album would have a solid promo cycle and push behind it. Silver Turns to Rust was just kind of dumped online like a baby at a firehouse.
Agreed. None of those songs received the true attention they deserved. Casual Ataris fans probably don't even know that release even exists (same with Welcome the Night, but I don't want to depress myself).
I'm just happy this thread is active again. I missed that mention of "new music in 2024" when it was posted - I've been on a huge Welcome the Night kick since last week and would love to hear some new music.
Welcome The Night rules, it’s cool to see an audience emerge for it. The song in that clip is “This Is My Life Now”, there was a bandcamp demo up at some point. It kinda reminds me of a better “Looking Back On Today” I dig it
Welcome the Night is one of my all time favorite records and seeing them on that tour was hands down the best iteration of the band. Loved how they made the old songs sound with that lineup.
If we get new Ataris on top of everything else the last two years, it'll be official: God is real, and he loves the scene.
I had given up all hope for a new Ataris record. This is giving me a sliver of hope. However I am telling myself we’ll get a few updates and then ten years from now we’ll still hear about Kris finishing up vocals.
They’ve evolved from an eBay store. Jokes aside, I know Kris has had a rough go of things for quite some time, and that his life basically fell apart post-SLA. I really hope that having Mike, John, and Kid back in the fold will bring some stability.
It would be wild if Ataris, The Starting Line, and Finch all released new music in 2024. Need to get Rufio, Sugarcult, Midtown, and All-American Rejects on this train.
Kris has definitely released the song that's in the instagram story in some capacity (maybe acoustic?), but I'm excited to get a polished version. Here's hoping the wait is finally over!
Can we please will this into existence? The world needs it. and I would pay an absurd price for this lineup on a tour, as long as everyone played for at least an hour and TSL headlined. I think it could work.
1. Blue Skies, Broken Hearts... Next 12 Exits 2. Anywhere But Here 3. End is Forever 4. So Long, Astoria 5. All You Can Ever Learn Is What You Already Know 6. Look Forward to Failure 7. Welcome the Night 8. Let it Burn 9. Silver Turns to Rust 10. October in This Railroad Earth This was tough, but I'm not too upset about how this looks.
Yeah, I wouldn't include All You Can Ever Learn, October, or Silver in my ranking. 1. So Long Astoria 2. Blue Skies 3. Welcome the Night 4. End Is Forever 5. Look Forward To Failure 6. Let It Burn 7. Anywhere But Here
