Ive heard a buncha new stuff, songs from the bandcamp demos and new new songs, some with vocals some not. Very much the next chapter from SLA/All Souls Day, and really really really good. most anticipated is a rocker with the sickest riff Kris has ever written, like Dear You era Jawbreaker by way of Futures, but still Ataris
I can't even remember how long it's been since All Souls Day dropped but I would love a new album in that vain. Or 12.15.10. *MaNiFeStInG*
I work with the guy who signed The Ataris to Columbia. We just did a (very good!) live Everclear album, so when The Ataris joined Everclear’s fall tour, I suggested he reconnect with Kris. They had, and continue to have, a great relationship, and I mean, I don’t know what the future holds, but I feel optimistic it will bear fruit. And yeah, album(…s?)
I feel like Kris has been in a creative rut for so many years at this point so I really just want to see them release a new album and have it do well.
I don’t think he’s been in a creative rut. He’s been in a releasing the music he made rut. What he’s made is insanely good.
Sounds like they’re in the studio??? This clip on their IG story sounds like it could have been something off SLA! https://www.instagram.com/stories/t...ig_story_item_share&igsh=MXh3MXJ4ZDlueTdhOQ==
Kris has had a really rough go of it over the last few years. I myself have made a lot of jokes about this album never coming out, but I hope he’s well and able to actually finish it.
do we not count Silver Turns to Rust as the last release? I feel like I'm not caught up on my Ataris lore, but I always thought it was a wasted opportunity that they didn't make some kind of attempt to follow up quickly after All Souls was in the Tony Hawk remake, since that probably got them in front of the most "new" fans in years. also, looking at their bandcamp for the first time in forever, it's really cool if Kris actually owns the rights to all of their music.
