Finally hearing the original demo tape that Kris gave The Vandals which led to The Ataris' signing is a trip. I've been wanting to hear these Anywhere But Here era demos for like 20 years! They just posted some End Is Forever era demos as well, which are great. It's really cool hearing all of these old 4 and 8-track recordings. Analog baby!

 

He never released that record he talked about for years. Right?

 

nope. but supposedly today he's releasing a couple more songs that were supposed to be on it.

For real. I'd always wanted to hear the Anywhere But Here demos.

 

Kris may not have come through with the long-awaited Graveyard of the Atlantic, but there's no denying the amount of demos, b-sides, alternate versions, and live recordings he's released over the years. And all for pay what you want download.

 

Amen. I can't blame him for having writers block or whatever ended up slowly killing Graveyard. To me, he's more than redeemed himself by posting so much other stuff. Can't wait to see what else he posts today. I've been refreshing the Bandcamp page like 10 times an hour haha.
