The Ataris Release New EP

woah. this is a surprise.

 

Sounds like The Descendents, which is cool with me.

 

"So we got this idea, Why not go in to Flying Blanket where we’ve been recording the new album and record some of these old song ideas using the same solid sounding vintage tones and the warmth of analog tape." How long they been recording the new cd??? A round 7 years for sure.

 

what a nice surprise! i'll be bumping this tomorrow, if i can get the new Blink album out of my stereo

Wonder how many drum sets and other music instruments was destroyed during the recording....

 

This is a really great surprise... Only on the second track so far, but this reminds me of Foo Fighters (with the way he is singing/shouting) which is awesome either way.

I'm loving this =D

 

Ugh. Totally not for me. Sounds nothing like the other 4 tracks that he's released so far.

 

This is terrible.

 

I'm liking this. I'm just glad we finally get a new release of all new songs. I like the recording style and the pacing of the songs.

 

Always glad to get new Ataris music. Not sure about Kris's vocals on this though.

It felt like a bad version of Bob Mould.

 

I like it. Definitely doesn't sound like the Graveyard songs at all, but I don't think it's supposed to if I'm understanding the description. Hopefully that album gets finished eventually!

 

I'll gladly be buying a ticket to their Middle East show.

Artwork sucks.

Music is ok. Wish they would just make the next album already and move past Graveyard. Its time has passed I think. Assuming it finally hits next year it would be a 10 year gap between LPs.

 

Getting an End Is Forever vibe from these songs.

Peel Sessions and Silver Turns to Rust are my favorites, I think. It's cool that they revisited some old stuff and recorded it, sounds nostalgic.
