God DAMN IT I already have an insane week of November sure why NOT just add to it Nov 14 & 15 - The 1975 Nov 16 - Hot Mulligan Nov 17 - Foxing/The Hotelier Nov 17 - The Armed?!
okay okay so at first i thought they were being all hyperbolic calling their new album the 'best rock album of the 21st century' but now that i've heard it i think they might be right???? idk man fuck
honestly, the entire first half just completely does it for me. track two and three are both like, guitar driven indie rock songs, which i could see turning off old fans, but they do it *so* perfectly. track four brings in the screaming, we already know everything's glitter is amazing, it just doesn't quit. so so solid.
Feel free to correct me or tell me this has already been discussed elsewhere, but I am about 99% sure this band lip syncs at LEAST their vocals live. Saw them open for Queens of the Stone Age a few weeks ago and was not even remotely impressed. The one vocalist was stage diving and vocal tracks were clear despite the microphone being nowhere close to her mouth. Can't say I understand the hype, here.
you can watch multiple videos from very close to the stage that clearly show they aren’t lip syncing or fake playing at all and at worst have a few backing tracks for backing vocals/instruments like 99.9% of other bands
have not seen the armed live but surely "99.9%" is a tremendous overstatement anyway I am delighted and somewhat surprised to say this album largely rips
Sometimes they have back up singers as part of their stage set up. Wearing make up and masks and shit. Coulda been that?
The only time I saw them it was so smoky and strobelighty that I would never know if they were actually singing or not lol.
