This band is one that I never really consider one of my favorites unless I'm listening to them but they absolutely don't have a single subpar album
I'm somewhat in the same ballpark. I don't listen to them often, but I always question why I don't listen to them more whenever I do. They've got a strong discography from the five albums I've listened to.
the thing about TC is that something got lost in the translation from LLO, some of that abstract magic that makes it unique was surrendered for a more concise experience still a great record, tho and Peregrine is awesome too - I'm not sure which one I prefer
Losing touching searching is definitely my favorite song on the album. From 2:30 until the end of the song is just phenomenal. Gives me chills every time.
oh yeah, beautiful song AC has such a unique cadence in their music it's pensive but always uplifting, I really love that
TC is such a unique album. I can't think of (m)any other albums that blend post rock with pop like this
I honestly don't think I could even rate all their albums, there's something I love about each of them and they all fit a different mood. One thing I will say about TAC's history with drummers though - I know Cobra is the fan-favourite and I really like what he did on MV and LLO, but I feel that by TC his style was starting to get a bit repetitive and limiting (which is apparently one of the reasons why the band moved him on). Nathan Richardson from The Casket Lottery, who is one of my favourite drummers, played on Peregrine and I think the work he did on that album is incredible and I'm so glad he put out a release with the band. Nathan Wilder's work on Illumination Ritual is fantastic, too.
I honestly think every drummer they've had has been really good and brought something different to each album
I agree, every drummer has done some incredibly tasteful stuff. Very unique stuff for their style of music imo.
ah man, didn't know that the Casket Lottery dude played in Peregrine! Moving Mountains is such a sick album, btw I feel AC owes some of thier sound to CL, now that I think of it
been listening to Two Conversations non-stop for the past week - such a gem it's hard for me to order the AC albums, but: #1: LLO Tier 2: Two Conversations, Peregrine, Sagarmatha Tier 3: Illumination Ritual, Middle States, Mare, End of...
I really like Sagarmatha - it's really interesting to me because even though it contains their longest songs, it feels more focused and effective than, say, IR hits hard when it has to too
