I'd say Sagarmatha is the closest to a whiff, but it plays well front to back, even if I have a hard time picking favorite tracks.
Sagarmatha is a fantastic album though! Definitely their most post-rocky so there is that quality about it that I can see some people not being as into.
See, I'm a big Post Rock guy, but something about it didn't work for me. But I also admit, it's been a few years since I listened, so maybe it's time for me to give it a new spin.
Sagarmatha is good, but, aside from South Col, I think it loses some steam after the first three songs
I checked this out for the first time yesterday and am really digging this. Somehow I’ve never listened to them even knowing that they’ve influenced like every band I’ve ever loved
That's insane to me. They don't have a single bad record, but tbh I don't love this one as much as the others. Going backward through their discography is a good idea (Illumination Ritual is my personal favorite from them)
I envy you. I picked up Peregrine from the FYE I worked at in 2006 without knowing anything about the band just because the cover looked cool. They've slowly become my favorite band since then. None of their albums disappoint.
Nice! Funnily enough I listened to Peregrine for the first time in a while last night. Album still rules.
