I feel like the finale of this season is going to dramatically change the status quo heading into the last season. This season was definitely a slow burn, but still very enjoyable and deep, hoping it ends with a bang
Pretty subdued finale, which I guess is fitting given the tone of this season. Felt like a good amount of table-setting for the next season.
Poor Henry haha. god that whole sequence with Posha(sp?) slitting his wrists were so unnerving. Very difficult to watch. I honestly couldn't believe Philip and Elizabeth were seriously considering taking Henry and Paige back to the Soviet Union. But then again, they haven't been back in close to 20 years so it obviously isn't today what it is then. Which leads me to being a bit surprised to see the KGB taking extra ordinary care for Martha. Though it did make me happy. I don't know. Lots of mixed emotions about this entire season and this finale, in particular.
I loved all the training scenes with Paige. I thought the ending was really great. Putting Philip and Elizabeth in that situation where they have to choose, such a good payoff for the Kimmy subplot too.
It was a dour season for the characters. Everyone has become somewhat disillusioned with their job. Elizabeth seems to be the most resolute, but the more everything affects her family the more her dedication might be tested.
This season just pounded on the emotional baggage relentlessly. I loved it for that, but I'm not sure I liked it more than seasons 2-4.
I loved the parallel of Stan and Phillip wanting to leave the job, but getting pulled back in. And the Martha scene made me SO HAPPY.
I kind of feel like Stan could see through Renee when she started to convince him to not quit his job.
@Anthony_D'Elia now that Fargo is off, what better time to start this show? I'm telling you, you won't be disappointed. I'm sure you're in the middle of other shows, but at least watch the first few episodes. You'll be hooked.
I remember having that conversation! You know, I might actually do that once I finish catching up on Orange Is The New Black.
Not cool. I HATE having to watch Philip and Elizabeth lie to each other. I enjoy this show so much more when they are on the same side ha.
There's always been varying amounts of tension and disagreement between them, but hopefully if they're at odds with each other, they overcome it. I like when they're a team too. Excited to see Paige get in on the action.
I’m finally catching up on last season and just watched episode 10. The last 10 minutes are really messing with me. This show really knows how to make you feel something for a character you know nothing about and were just introduced to.
