Was just listening to Don't Leave Me & playing along to it on guitar earlier today. Such an amazing song.
I remember back when "When The World Comes Down," people shit on it so hard on Absolutepunk, but I thought it was great pop record. I'll still never understand how "Breakin'" didn't get released as a single - fantastic song.
Move Along fits the mold of their entire career other than WTWCD: A few killer songs and a lot of filler.
I'm with you on this. There's like 2 songs I don't really like on it (Real World & The Wind Blows) but everything else is great pop-rock
I also have a very strong nostalgic connection to When the World Comes Down since it was HUGE for me in 7th grade lol
Their debut is by far my favorite, followed by WTWCD, then Move Along. Didn't care much for KITS but it's been a while since I heard it. I'll have to re-listen to it sometime.
Its funny that's the way I'd describe WTWCD. KITS and Move Along are both great from start to finish imo.
I honestly think WTWCD is sort of a mess. Really the only song I ever go back to is Another Heart Calls (which is a great song). Kids...is deeply underrated in my opinion. Probably not their best, but definitely never got the respect it deserved.
after listening to their whole discography, the first album is still the only one i want to come back to, but that's always been my go-to album of theirs, so maybe there's some nostalgia playing in that. "Swing Swing" is a jaaaam!
I have intense nostalgia for it but it does not really hold up aside from a few songs. Tyson's voice is also way less refined than it would grow to be on later releases
I remember my buddy buying their debut album with an alternate cover art, before they were big or anything or that album took off. I don't even think it came in a CD case, it was in a CD sleeve at Hot Topic and my buddy just took a flyer on the album. Pretty sure it ended up being re-released by Dreamworks, which is the album most people probably have and then it took off.

I remember whoever reviewed it said RIYL: Disappointment hahaha. I always thought I was the only one who actually liked the record.
