i saw that too, i agree, idgaf about new AAR , everything they have put out lately as huffed hard. they lost their spark a long time ago, still put on a killer live show though! caught them fo free last year in my hometown, it was fun!
I remember listening to the first 2 albums a lot back in the day but nothing much after that. Have I missed much?
Y’all are wack lol Kids flopped and put a halt on their career , the first two albums are great. The next two albums were for 45 year old soccer moms. I’m not surprised at all why they stopped putting out albums. sad but true , they are never gonna top ‘gives you hell’ and that song is awful.
Feel like AAR made a nice, gradual progression from the emo/mall-punk sound to something a bit more expansive and loose, without losing their knack for hooks. “Kids in the Street” was a nice progression of that sound. Could have been their last one and I would be okay with that.
Kids in the Street isn’t the most consistent album but it’s probably my favorite of theirs. Absolutely adore Beekeeper’s Daughter and several other tracks on it.
I like both Kids in the Street and When the World Comes Down, but Move Along is their opus and my favorite and it's not really close.
Their first two albums were huge when I was in high school. Last time I saw them was the Kids in the Street tour annnnnd... it was something else. The lights were all the way down so you couldn't see any of the band and Tyson just had a light on his mic. It was pretty wild to say the least but they sounded alright, although not as good as years before.
