I'll just say this. "Being excited about being independent" and finishing with "being excited to open for the jonas brothers all summer in stadiums"....it's uh, a weird contrast no?
they don't come across well in this at all. almost rolled my eyes out of my head at the imagine dragons comment and it only got worse from there
Surprised nobody has mentioned these pop up shows they’ve been doing. So far I’ve seen at least 3 house shows, one at a bowling alley, one in the middle of a college campus, and another at a barn in the middle of nowhere in Iowa. Really cool. I love when bands do shit like this and wish there were more of it
Definitely. If I had the time and money I’d be following these shows. They all look like such fun, unique experiences
They’re doing a good job of going viral with this little backyard mini tour they’re doing. Every day I keep seeing a dozen or so videos from each stop.
I misread “‘And I just shoved Nick down an emotional flight of stairs” as “‘And I just shoved Nick down an enormous flight of stairs.” Didn’t realize my mistake until I went back to read that section out loud to my partner because I couldn’t believe what an insane turn the story took. Stoked for the album!
I randomly stumbled on this show when I was walking my dogs like an hour before the show started. Saw a giant line and couldn't believe it when someone said it was for AAR. It was 2 blocks from my house and was indeed a blast
I was at the Iowa show! It was cool but also kind of a nightmare because 5000 fucking people showed up. Also we were all on a hill slanting away from the stage so unless you were in the very front you literally couldn’t see anything. And the show ended early because someone OD’d
I had no idea they still had this big of a following. They haven't had a hit in 17 years. Did gen Z rediscover them or something?
I think they’re likely on a ton a of Spotify playlists. They have 8.7 million monthly Spotify listeners. But also, songs like “Dirty Little Secret,” “Gives You Hell” and “Move Along” never really went away.
Doing a quick discog run of AAR. Always thought When the World Comes Down was a huge disappointment but halfway through it today listening to it for the first time in probably 10+ years and it's not as bad as I remember? Another Heart Calls is one of the best songs they've ever done.
The house party thing is super cool. Great idea. Hopefully as people rediscover them, they also rediscover Kids in the Street, because that album deserves its time in the sun.
