Apparently Forty Foot Echo is back and have a new song dropping on the 15th called "Miles Away". I'm down for it.
They released a new version of Drift a few months ago. I love their first album to death but I couldn't really get into anything they released after that.

Makeout is purely a popunk band and Rookie Of The Year are more indie-punk. Never heard of the other band but the 2 I mentioned have nothing really to do with FH.
I'm not terribly surprised. I don't know how familiar you are with the band and their music, but I know Nixon never considered their band to be part of (waves at thread title) this scene, despite the efforts of their original label to make it so.
I am very familiar with them. I always saw them as a nu-metal or post-grunge band. The only thing i considered emo about them was their look back in the day.
