I was watching the Nickelback documentary on Saturday night before I went to sleep and it's really good, the hate for them in the past was so unwarranted and I am glad they made it through the other side and people love and respect them.
Hahaha! Maybe I chose my words wrong.. I ment to say people who I know who hated Nickelback before r still not fans but they respect them for staying the course and remained popular after all this time.. especially in the UK which they still sell out arenas after all this time but its beyond me why they haven't headlined a major festival or done a big outdoor show of their own yet in the UK.. they could easily headline the main stage at the download festival or BST Festival at Hyde Park, long overdue!
Guess I should do a discography run. I always wrote their post-All the Right Reasons stuff off, a couple songs aside, so I want to give everything a fair chance again
Their material from Reasons onward has been hit or miss with me since they started working with Mutt Lange and incorporated more cock rock in their sound, but for what it's worth, I think their last album is their best since that time and almost reminds me of their older approach.
Yeah Feed The Machine is the last one I remember, felt a bit like the Nickelback I grew up with again
10 Years, Thousand Below & NERV To Open Citizen Soldier's Spring U.S. Tour - Theprp.com This is a great lineup but it's wild that 10 Years is support to Citizen Soldier. I feel like that says more about the state of 10 Years than anything else.
CS had a show at a mid sized venue in Chicago on a Wednesday a few months ago and sold it out way ahead of time. I think they are getting big on social media.
Good for them if true. They certainly deserve it. They've been incredibly prolific over the years, so it's great if their persistence pays off.
Rumors are going around of a new TDG song that features both vocalists and will be out on the 22nd this month
Re-visited the first Days Of The New album the other day. Still holds up. The lyrics are a bit rudimentary which is to be expected given Travis was like 17 when writing it but the guitar work/arrangements are still incredible. This song is particular is amazing:
I saw The Union Underground last Friday opening for Soil and they killed it for an opening act of a 4 band bill!!
