EDIT: Looking on Spotify and it seems like all of these songs except the title track have been released already over the last two years, which is not unsurprising, but a little disappointing there isn't more new stuff. Also interesting they're including So Far Gone since that was recorded for Thousand Foot Krutch's collaboration project.
Oh I should give it a listen. Also time to revisit their discography because I barely recall their post-2011 material.
Seeing them with Skillet this Tuesday, I'm not very excited about the setlists but my wife is a fan of both so we'll go anyway.
@Azz You are based in the UK right? I saw Basement a couple of nights ago and for some reason they always remind me of the band Reuben. I grew up watching MTV2 UK so I was always listening to Biffy Clyro, Reuben, Fightstar, Feeder, Hell Is For Heroes, Hundred Reasons etc. That is pure nostalgia for me.
MTV2 in the UK was my go too alongside kerrang TV and Scuzz and P Rock back in the day!! Those bands u mentioned were the gold standard of my teenage years!! Reuben truly were one of the most underrated UK bands around and should of gotten a lot bigger.
Every time I see anything remotely related to Freddy Krueger I get the song stuck in my head for days. That band was so underrated. I miss that time so much. I need to one day find a good Spotify playlist with these bands, even throw in The Streets for good measure.
It's not like there's a thread called "Modern Rock music from 20 years ago"... I wish there was one, though.
So anyway, I listened to some of the new Seether earlier today and while I like it, ever since they left Wind-Up I've felt their production values a bit lacking. The albums sound like independent releases, which I guess they are, but man, I feel like it hurts the songs.
Yeah I've never really known how to classify their sound. I feel like they owe as much to 90s alt rock/metal than post-hardcore
The only time I saw them was when they were opening for Chevelle so yeah, they should fit on some way
I wouldn't put Chevelle in here either, if I'm being honest, but then again I thought we were just using this thread for post-grunge bands since there are other threads out there that these bands would equally fit in, but we've never had a post-grunge thread before that wasn't made ironically.
Although I guess the thread title is "Active Rock/Post Grunge". I guess we could just retire the Nu-Metal thread and have this be the one thread to rule them all?
