Oh Biffy Clyro is one of my alt rock faves, never considered them part of that lane due to their post-hardcore and math-y roots but I guess they do have some post-grunge tendencies on their more mainstream material
Also on the Christian circuit there's Thousand Foot Krutch, Red, Pillar, Disciple, Day Of Fire, and if you can stomach the lead singer's stupid face, Skillet.
Kutless are pretty good too. Always funny for me as a Jewish person to listen to a new band and then comes thr realization that they are signing about Jesus and I get all confused.
Endorsements for Creed, Puddle of Mudd (yes, actually), TrustCompany, Red, and Taproot. There’s SO many more to check out! Revis, Earshot, Pulse Ultra, Breaking Benjamin, Submersed, early Alter Bridge, etc.
The trek will feature singers Adam Gontier and Matt Walst sharing lead vocal duties. I love the idea that fronting Three Days Grace is simply too great a task for one guy.
Today I learned that Lifer got back together and put out a 5-song EP this year. Good for them! I always dug the self-titled and the MyDownfall demos.
Okay, actually, I did a little more checking and I guess they put these songs out in 2020-2022 and maybe they're just now being collected? And I can't really find anything about what they're doing now, which sucks, because I was excited and now I'm bummed. EDIT: Ooookay, found a post on Aaron Fink's Facebook that confirms the EP was remastered and put up on streaming this year. And I guess he's in Earshot now? Wonder what Nick Coyle is up to then, doesn't look like he's in Cold anymore...
My favorite Nick Coyle project was The Drama Club. They had 2 great EPs. Check em out. And I thought we already discussed Aaron Fink being in Earshot before. That's why they are doing So Cold live.
That post was a few pages and three months ago, and if I'm being honest I probably just skimmed over it without really paying attention.
The Drama Club? They're good, the Ben Burnley guest spot is nice, and that 10 minute Saturn Return instrumental is sufficiently weird and ominous. It's a little lighter overall, I kind of favor Coyle's heavier acts more, but it's enjoyable.
This album made it's way to my top 5 albums this year in Spotify Wrapped. No surprise, I love this album so much.
