I completely forgot to post this because I been really busy but the new Mammoth album is awesome!! What a run Wolfgang is on at the moment, these songs r gonna sound massive live!!
Cold are doing a small tour now in City Winery with reimagined versions of some of their songs. They mentioned that there will be some deep cuts in the set but somehow they managed to put some of my all time favorite Cold songs on there, stuff they haven't played in ages. I'm seeing this on Sunday. https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/cold/2025/city-winery-boston-ma-3b4e5c84.html
Glad they took from all of their albums, and getting Swan involved is ultra cool. Also, EDISUN?? Obi-Wan meme moment.
SEVENDUST Completes Recording 15th Studio Album YOU LEFT ME WITH NO CHOICE I'M COMIN WATCH HOW I BLOW THROUGH YOU
It's also mildly ironic since they were both on Wind-Up before the label went under and they're only now doing a collab.
Overall, the album was pretty good. I believe the band sounds the best when they are going full throttle and this album only has a handful of those tracks. The Mountain is my favorite track.
Yeah, The Mountain slaps. Perfect Effigy was pretty good too. I don't get why they had to include a version of Blue Sky without Patrick though. Seems unnecessary.
After replaying 10 Years, liking Finger Eleven's new album, catching up on Nickelback's post-All The Right Reasons material, and now revisiting Alter Bridge (in case I manage to see them with Sevendust next year) and Seether... I'm ready to finally fix all my blind spots in post-grunge/hard rock. I don't know where to start. Pretty sure I've never listened to a Creed, Three Days Grace, 3 Doors Down, Puddle Of Mudd or Hurt album so I'll probably start with these obvious picks. Don't remember the last time I've put on Breaking Benjamin and Skillet as well... does anyone have a masterlist lol (now that I'm thinking about it deeper, many names I briefly gave a listen a long time ago are coming back to mind such as Black Stone Cherry or After Midnight Project... also sad that as I write this, I can't think of any bands with frontwomen other than The Pretty Reckless)
Are Adema and Taproot closer to nu-metal? Never really listened to both. I could've probably made the same post for the nu-metal thread lol. Lots of acts I've never checked out.
Hurt is incredible and I feel fortunate I was able to see them live. I would also like to recommend Sinch and 8Stops7, as well as Sick Puppies. As for frontwomen, there's Halestorm, of course. Plush has been making a name for themselves lately too.
Taking notes of all the names, it's going to take me a while to get through everything lol. Thanks so much!!
Check out my friend's band See This Through. Also, there are some bands with deep discographies like Cold that you can always go deeper in. One of my favorite bands is Biffy Clyro and I always find mew stuff they have out that I've never heard before.
