Kennedy's trajectory post-Mayfield Four is insane when you think about it. Went from a still good but barely noticed also-ran band to touring all over the world with Alter Bridge, fronting Slash's solo band, and being able to launch his own solo career. It's a great thing, cause he's too solid of a vocalist to let fall into obscurity.
It is crazy, he was a guitar teacher before he was asked to join Alter Bridge and was the original first choice to front Velvet Revolver but turned it down because he was retired from the music industry after The Mayfield Four split up! Crazy trajectory I agree but I met Myles years ago and he's a really nice down to earth person and we chatted for like 20 mins, he honestly deserves all the success he's getting big time.
It is but I am glad he joined Alter Bridge and things worked out in the end, one of the rare bands that r still together after all this time.. no line up changes or drama at all and always consistently putting out great albums and put on a good live show.
Alter Bridge are phenomenal, agreed. One of the more consistent bands out there… I wish they got as big as Creed.
Alter Bridge r massive in the UK, they been playing and selling out arenas from AB III onwards and I have seen them live 10 times on since the first album onwards when they started out playing small venues at first and they achieved their success over here without any mainstream airplay or anything!!
True! Black Stone Cherry r massive over here but they mix it up when it comes to the venues they play, usually they do arenas which they got an UK arena tour coming up with Skillet supporting but sometimes they do club shows as well for fun
Haven't kept up with their line up changes (I remember two different second guitarists) but it's cool that the drummer and bassist are still there, always thought the former was underrated. Dude has chops
As much as I want a new Creed album, I just cannot see where they will find the time among all their other projects. Tremonti is working on a new album. Now Alter Bridge. I'm not complaining, not really, but man, they are just workaholics.
Mark Tremonti alone is insanely prolific between the Alter Bridge albums, his own band Tremonti and the two solo albums, one which is Frank Sanatra covers album and the 2nd one an Christmas album!! But yeah Alter Bridge r definitely workaholics!!
I'd include Scott, but the difference between Scott and Mark is that Scott does all his stuff to pass the time between Creed albums, and Mark does all his stuff to avoid doing Creed albums.
Yeah that's true, closest I ever got to hearing Creed songs live was when I saw Scott Stapp in 2014 on his first ever UK solo show in London when he was touring his 2nd solo album Proof of Life, while the solo material sounded great live, the Creed songs on the set list got everyone singing along and Scott himself sounded amazing and he's one hell of a showman plus I had tickets to see him in Birmingham but the tour got postponed twice due to the pandemic then got cancelled the third time even though the tour was sold out but it was too expensive to tour overseas for him and his band and crew and they just couldn't afford to tour the UK and Europe post pandemic so they had to cancel it unfortunately.
Puddle Of Mudd's Wes Scantlin Arrested After Alleged Standoff Involving SWAT - Theprp.com I really wish this guy could just get his shit together.
Second new Audiovent song since their reunion. I'm intrigued by this direction they've gone in and hope it leads to a new album.
Listened to the new Finger Eleven song and I really dig it. I think their last album, Five Crooked Lines, really reconciled their previous nu-metal/hard rock sound with the more alternative-leaning material of their later albums to make them something akin to Blue October, another band I think really balances alternative, indie, and hard rock sounds in their albums. This song, the latter half really invokes that classic Finger Eleven guitar sound and I think as a song it definitely skews on the heavier end. I'm so excited for whatever they put out next year.
