Seeing the festival is called the Blackbird Festival and I was going to make an innocent joke about the openers being Florence Black, Cardinal Black, and "Skindred Black", and then the more obvious joke loomed in front of my face and I burst out laughing at my own idiocy.
I think you’re missing “Homebody”’from The Science Of Things as well as “Bud” and “Bubbles” from the Sixteen Stone era. Also, wasn’t “Broken Tv” from the Sixteen Stone period?
See my original post for details on Disc 2, which includes "Bubbles" as well as why "Homebody" is not included. Or "Bud", for that matter, which I wasn't aware of. As for the Sixteen Stone/Razorblade thing, I'm solely referring to where it's included on Spotify.
Sidenote but "Old" is one of my favorite Bush songs. It's wild it didn't make Razorblade Suitcase but I guess it's a bit too uptempo for the general mood of that record. Still would have been the most immediate song aside from "Swallowed" on there.
Feeder are doing a re-release for Comfort In Sound, not sure if it's a remaster or a new recording. I wish they did something similar for Echo Park. Legendary album.
JOSEY SCOTT On BOBBY AMARU: 'He's Not SALIVA. He Has Never Been SALIVA' I have to talk about Josey Scott for a minute. I think the way he's been slowly changing over the years from being relatively supportive to outright disparaging of Amaru continuing Saliva has been disappointing to see, especially since he doesn't seem self-aware of his own culpability in the current situation. He left. And the rest of the band pulled together and continued on, and got new members, and now that Swinny is dead and there are no more original members, it sucks because now there's no one to vouch for Amaru, but the reality is that Amaru has been fronting Saliva almost as long as Scott did. I get why Scott is frustrated by Amaru performing his work, but he stepped away from the entire music industry for a long time, and now suddenly he wants the name back? Really a dick move, again, especially since now no original members are left in the band to vouch for the current iteration.
It's kind of a dick move but I understand where he is coming from. Imagine putting your heart and soul into something, just so someone else can take it for themselves. He was the one that left so he did bring it on himself but still, his feeling are understandable.
The last Saliva record was terrible. I don't think he is missing anything tbh, other than the royalty checks.
I remember that when Amaru was announced as the new singer I was like "Really? The Burn Season guy???". I don't dislike him or anything but I don't feel like he fits a band like Saliva. Same goes for Fuel. I saw them a few weeks ago with their new singer. He isn't bad or anything but anyone else but Brett singing these songs just doesn't feel right (yes, I know Carl Bell wrote them but still...)
He walked away though. I mean, again, Amaru has put in an equal amount of "heart and soul" into the band for an equal duration of time. He's earned his stake in the band. Scott made no attempts to even try to continue or come back for years. And it's not like he's not able to do his own thing, even if it's not specifically as Saliva. It just seems very dismissive.
I get this and I feel it too, to an extent, although I don't dislike the new material. That's beside the point though, really.
Not to go on and on about Saliva, but all I'll say is that Three Days Grace decided to keep both vocalists and continue on, and that should, whenever possible, be the standard for how this stuff plays out. Check the ego, respect each other's craft, love one another. I mean, what happened to this? Ex-SALIVA Singer JOSEY SCOTT Explains Why He Had Initially Avoided Meeting Band's Current Frontman BOBBY AMARU
Buck Rogers, Just A Day, Seven Days In The Sun... I think they fit great here Check out these 3 songs
Oh they would be right up your alley, if you want to dive into their work a thread was recently made btw! I'm not the most familiar with their work (they have SO many albums) but I don't think "britpop" when I hear their music, even though they've had some poppier stuff here and there. They've always been grungy.
