With the removal of merch, I wonder if this series is going to get the Willow series treatment and eventually get removed from Disney+. I was really hoping for a season 2, but maybe novels would be better.
Thinking about how there was a couple months there where I got totally invested in Star Wars, read a bunch of books and comics, watched all the shows; but now I honestly do not care at all. Lost all interest in continuing. That is what cancelling shows like this does.
i ordered the first couple High Republic books a few days before the cancellation announcement, excited by the prospect of diving into this area. i'm still planning on reading through it, but the news definitely dampened my excitement, especially since the show was set at the tail end of that time period. i'll still engage with the new stuff when it comes out, but aside from Andor S2, i'm not as optimistic about what's to come (from everything they've announced this far).
I'm still mad about this, I might be one of the only ones in the world that really liked that Willow series, but I thought it was primed for a good second season.
Queer women were willing to run through brick walls for it. I liked it just fine. But if queer women’s fandom was taken more seriously, a lot of good shows would have been given some extra time.
Andor is one of the best seasons of television I've ever seen, Star Wars or not. I think fans would be a lot happier if they accepted that not every Star Wars thing is going to be their cup of tea. I love sushi more than anything, but I don't love every type of fish on my chef's menu, so I just skip the couple I don't like.
Placating trolls and right wing review bombers is much more important and easier than just reducing the budget and tightening up S2’s scripts.
there's no way that at least some parts of this series don't live on in books, comics, the animated sphere, etc. (some books are already set to be released). but yeah, it sucks Disney capitulated (as the always do)
