I was under the impression that Filoni decides what stories they pursue, but Kennedy is the one that decides which of those stories to allocate money towards? Could be wrong though.
This series cost $180mil to make its no surprise it didn’t get picked up after a mediocre critical response.
It's just a shame because it's going to really empower the worst side of the fandom. Supposedly Amandla's Instagram is just racists talking shit to her. I don't have it in me to go look at it. It's super lame because now we'll never know the rest of the Plagueis story.
I just hope the story gets picked up in some aspect, but I guess it might be hard to do since there's not really anything else taking place in this time period.
I don't know what has me more nonplussed, that you weren't just making this up for a laugh or that there's an alien in Star Wars named Frank.
I miss the days where the first season can be shaky - good then the second season on it’s really great. Some shows need to find their footing and voice and I believe this one would have
genuine question: how did they allocate that budget across these episodes? can't all be VFX, set design, and talent
I just think it’s bananas how many people refuse to believe that poor quality and diversity aren’t mutually exclusive. Taking the same show and redoing it with only white actors doesn’t solve even one of its problems. I know everyone in here knows that, it’s just so absurd that this thought process still lands so high up in production
Oh sure, I guess it was billed as a limited series. The CGI Cad Bane cameo (who still haunts my dreams) felt like a pretty strong hint at a continuation. But I guess not resolving stories is cool and fine now.
probably Black Series figures, shirts, etc. saw a few folks on TikTok who got PR packages a while back
Now that I’ve finished the show, I get why it was canceled. But man this time period is so much more interesting than the New Republic at this point so it really sucks.
While I really loved the show and am disappointed it’s not coming back, Lucasfilm really needs to stop making every project so big because it needs to then be a phenomenon to keep going. Smaller shows for smaller fan bases with smaller budgets is ok. Also while they have the data to back up not renewing, it sucks that the worst side of the fandom is calling this a win and Lucasfilm keeps unintentionally giving them supposed Ws. Their fear of that portion of the base is IMO a big part of what’s holding them back.
