It’s just so weird to me. Any reference to them being lesbians took like 10 seconds of film time. I can’t imagine seeing that and being like “who cares about a season 2 they’re just gonna make Palpatine and Plageuis lesbians and Sheev transitions before the prequels” or some dumb shit like that
i surprisingly think i saw more of an uproar about the lesbian space witches than the "what are Bazil's pronouns?" bit, which i thought would piss off incels even more
The US hates women, Black people, non-evangelical Christians, and the LGBTQ+ community. A Black lesbian leading a coven of space witches is their legitimate nightmare
I went and read the DV comic because of this post and it is actually really cool how much the show borrows from it. Not sure if it's intentional or not but "Sol" has to be a reference to Charles Soule, right?
Finally finished this Love the story but hate the execution. The main girl, squid game, green lady, and dude with hair were all bad actors imo. Manny crushed it. Thought the vibes of the show were just off. The look and feel of it and the music just made it all cheesy. And shoehorning yoda in cmon lol. This is a middle of the road live action Star Wars show. Andor Mando 1 and 2 Ashoka Acolyte Mando 3 Obi wan Boba fett
Andor Mando 2 Mando 1 Acolyte Mando 3 dog shit turds Ashoka the heat death of the universe obi wan the miami heat boba fett
he didn’t work for me in this. Like him in squid game. I feel like I read he had to learn English for this role (not sure if that’s true) but I just found him not great in this
This is one of those things Star Wars does where the content (books/comic books) that comes out to support it will be so much better.
there are already a few Acolyte-adjacent books in the pipeline (although i don't think they're directly part of The High Republic publishing initiative).
Even the small stuff they did to try and correct some of the glaring story issues with the sequel trilogy makes a big impact narratively
i've heard the novelizations for the ST are actually really good, so i wouldn't be surprised if these other books fill a similar gap.
What does shoehorn mean to you? Yoda is around and the Grand Master at the time. To not bring something of this magnitude to him would be irresponsible and in fact it wouldn't make sense if he wasn't involved in some way when we got to this point in the story.
He didn't learn English as much as memorized his lines phonetically I believe which makes his performance even more impressive.
No one asked for this but I can't stop thinking about this show. Not perfect, but very good. Gotta rank my favorite characters: Qimir Sol Mother Aniseya Indara Osha Mae Vernestra Torbin Jecki Yord Special shoutout to Senator Rayencourt whose minimal screen time was among the most consequential and fulfilling moments of the show.
https://www.ign.com/articles/death-...yte-more-prove-that-stories-need-to-be-longer Great take on the problem with streaming shows. Would have loved a much longer narrative to the jedi that got smoked in episode 5 to build the resonance of this show.
