it wasn’t as bad as the people freaking out online and isn’t as compelling as some people are saying. I put it pretty firmly in the middle of Star Wars shows. Curious about a play through of all the episodes now that it’s finished. I liked the last episode but think the era, concepts teased, and possible continuation of the story are all better than what was given for season 1.
Yeah I'm also on the side of this being neither good or terrible. There was some stuff I really liked, like some really cool Sith/dark side lore, the action being great, and everything about Manny Jacinto's performance, but there was also quite a bit of terrible writing/acting as well I'm definitely interested enough in where this is going to watch another season, the extreme hate online is definitely overblown
HIGHLY recommend diving in tho the high republic books for anyone who enjoyed all the jedi running around in this show. I have enjoyed it more than the shows and movies. I’ve read everything, but you can get most of the story with the adult novels. It’s peak star wars. I would love if they took the high republic and made it a GOT level show or strong movie series. They let the writers cook and take big swings.
I read Light Of The Jedi when it first came out, but haven't followed up with the ones that came out after.
People either love light of the jedi or find it to be slow because of the first 100 pages. Getting to the end of rising storm is where it really takes off. It takes some time to be invested in the characters, but it’s so good with a lot of cool lore building that isn’t tied to the skywalker era.
wanna pick up a copy soon. thought about grabbing it in person since i have a bunch of B&N giftcards, but my B&N only has it in paperback, and i kinda want it in hardcover.
It’s up and down. Worth existing and sets up/explores some cool concepts but not perfect by any means
just feel like there’s no excuse for bad acting and looking like crap. I shouldn’t compare everything to andor but it exists so
Oh I will watch it all and I’m sure it will end up being fine. Just surprised at the low quality of the first episode.
Overall, I’m happy this show exists, mainly because of episode 5 being the best sw episode since No Way Out, but it’s about the same as Ahsoka with me overall. Some really shoddy acting and a weirdly sterile but too clean look brings down intriguing and exciting lore and fights in the sw universe
I don’t think it’ll change your critiques but at least story wise the first and second episodes were a two episode premier. But yea, the highs later on are worth it.
Yeah. Glad they left it out. But some sort of sith love story would be crazy though. Like a Mr. And Mrs. Smith kinda deal. Darth Plageous pits them against each other as his apprentice.
Absolutely bananas to me how hung up some Star Wars fans are about the “lesbian space witches” as if they even were a central focus of the show lol
