Every complaint I had about this show disappeared in episodes 5 and 6. We’re cooking now folks.

Yeah that is was I am thinking too he is like Maul in Clone Wars/Rebels. Not a current active Sith Lord, but a Sith outcast seeking his own apprentice to form a dyad to try to overthrow his former master. When she asked if the scar was from Jedi he didn't answer.
Also there was that weird line about how long ago he was a Jedi. I felt like they subtly hinted that he is much older than he appears. If that is the case it would make sense given a certain Sith's skill in life extension

The line about Quimir being a jedi a long time ago and no one remembers him is an interesting one

Also crazy that Sol never told the jedi council about what happened on Brendock. Seems weird nobody would've asked about it

Was happy Pip was still around only for him to immediately get factory reset

There's going to be a lot of ground to cover in the next two episodes if this truly is a fully contained story

I don’t think it’s that they didn’t tell the council about Brendock. It’s just that they clearly didn’t tell the whole truth or lied entirely about how it went down. Clearly Sol and crew did something pretty bad and covered it up.

Reminder to everybody David Harewood still has not shown up in this yet, and we got 2 episodes to go..

pretty great episode imo, the Osha/Qimir interactions were particularly strong. my only thing was it sounds like they want us to buy that Osha was in love with Jecki and I don't think they really sold that at all. at most I got that they were crushing on/curious about each other, love is a stretch

I didn't get "in love" from what Qimir said because it was paired with her relationship with Sol. I got him more saying "why do you invest or care about these relationships where they're all one-sided"

that's maybe fair, I've also had 3 hours sleep and probably missed a bunch of the nuances in this episode lmao

I like that we’re revisiting the kylo/rey in TLJ dynamic here a bit….but osha is nowhere near as charming or sympathetic as Rey so it’s just not as good.

Here is a very minor pedantic thing, if the helmet is for sensory deprivation and blocks out all senses, then how is he engaging in conversations while wearing it? I don't think you can hear through the force lol

Well, they have said he was in their head. I would assume he knows what is said while being in their head. So he does not need to actually hear it. Maybe?

Just assume it's the force. Anytime something doesn't really make sense it always falls back on the force being able to do that

Kanan was blind and was able to fight well. I’d imagine tapping into the dark side of the force would allow for more power, too.

Eyes give a human element to the character in the mask. But, yeah I get it.

I hated the execution of episode 3 so much (the kids' acting... bad witch musical... random laughing lady... why does Sol not use the force to catch both children...) that I took a 3+ week break for the show.

I finished episodes 4 - 6 last night. I still think the pacing is way off for this show, and some things just don't make sense. Like, why does the Jedi group go back to Coruscant instead of chasing after Mae when they know she's off to kill Kelnacca in episode 4!? that seems like a horrible waste of time.

The most bewildering thing to me is Mae's mindset though. I think I may have missed something in episode 5 (the best fight(s) Star Wars has had in a looonnggggg time). So in episode 4, Mae's goal is to turn herself in to the jedi (that's some whiplash -- going to kill the jedi that had a hand in the downfall of your home and family, and then being fine with them?) so she can be with her sister Osha. In the 5th episode, Jecki comes to take Mae in, but Mae fights her, and fights her hard, even though she was going to turn herself in. Then, she does this weird Parent Trap thing to take the place of Osha, and just ditches her to try and continue the jedi killing? I truly don't understand this. Is there an explanation for any of this? The thing that i came up with is that she is just so afraid of Qimir that she's trying to get back in his good graces?
