Just realized this had its own thread. First two episodes were solid, but I do feel like a bulk release would work better with how short they are.
I will not be looking this up but whoever is choreographing the fights either worked on the Matrix or has seen them 10381937294728392 times.
Sol is cool. Was kind of bored though. Found myself wanting to look at my phone and I haven't done that much in other Star Wars shows. Keeping an open mind though.
Liked the fight choreography, liked the practical aliens, liked how the tech seems kind of retro to the era we see 100-150 years later. Intrigued enough by the plot, very simple but it works. Also I think Jecki might be my favorite character so far.
just watched ep 1 and I'm liking it. the Russian Doll connection had me expecting some crazy shit lol but it's an interesting twist on the usual SW stuff as is. def agree the characters are a bit bland, I was stoked to see Charlie from RD but they've barely given him a character at least so far. Amandla is great though
I was kind of surprised they didn't end episode 2 on more of an "oh shit" type moment to get people hyped to continue this series. Kind of ended on a downbeat.
the confrontation between *those* two characters was pretty anticlimactic lol. I was expecting a bit more than a look and the protag just missing a shot after all that buildup still I'm onboard with this, it seems to be pulling from the animated shows equally with the movies and I love that. the scene in episode 1 was very similar to a big one in Clone Wars s5 (disgraced Padawan tries to convince their master of their innocence standing next to a sheer drop). plus Wookie Jedi, sick as hell
Apparently per reviewers who saw the first 4 in screeners, next week is going to be a flashback episode.
Second episode was ok, some janky dialogue as per usual though so it seems like the republic kept both sisters alive without knowing the other, to experiment to see how different force teachings or something work?
Really enjoyed these first two. Not without issues (pacing, editing, some dialogue) but feels like there’s much more meat on the bone here than Ahsoka, Obi Wan, Boba Fett, etc.
I can only assume the master is a character we’ve been introduced to already. Which leads me to the most obvious suspect (so far), Qimir. (This is just a prediction, I don’t know any actual spoilers)
