Feels like they’ve been gone for a minute! Second album wasn’t really for me but still looking forward to this
Couldn’t be happier with this album. This band has always been at their best when they get creative and find interesting guitar tones, and this record has that in abundance. The big soaring and cascading choruses are back too, which I felt Under My Influence lacked for the most part. I was a little concerned that all the pre-release tracks would be the standouts, but “Not the Same”, “Attention”, and “Suburban Blues” to name a few are among some of my favourite tracks they’ve ever written. Quintessential The Aces.
I was just looking through some old CDs and came across this relic. Crazy how far they’ve come since just being a local high school band here.
Yeah this has everything I want in a pop album — bops on bops on bops and then gets out after 33 minutes
Enjoyable first listen, very breezy. My only initial takeaway is that it feels very safe. Not a bad thing overall, but not a lot of big moments
I like this way more than their last record (it’s already been three years since then?? wtf). Definitely agree that it feels safe but it’s also pretty much exactly what I want out of The Aces - airtight pop rock. Love a lot of the guitar tones here too
Hmm this might be their weakest for me but let's see how much more the songs have to offer on following listens.
came here to say this, I'm on my first listen over halfway through and i already like it better than the last album. that one wasn't bad, but it didn't hold my attention. it was a strange follow up to a stellar debut album that i played HEAVILY. any who, i wish them nothing but the best and here is a throwback photo of all of us at lolla 2018! :)
Great bounce back from their last record. Like how big they go on “Stop Feeling”. 11/11 hit rate for me, this album is (ha) aces.
track 5 'Not The Same' gives me total Pale Waves vibes, it's also one of my favorites off the new album
Absolutely loving this record. The shorter runtime compared to the past two LPs was absolutely the right call. All killer, no filler.
