I think this is actually my favorite on the album, or at least one of them, but it’s definitely an outlier. Sort of reminds me of the new TSL. Responding to old post because I’m listening to it now and was like, “didn’t Jason say this was his least favorite?!”
Damnnnn, I would LOVE to be at that Remember Maine show. Adored that album so much, though I haven't revisit it in years.
This album still isnt really grabbing me as a whole, but hot damn I think Snow Days might be in my top 5 TAI songs.
not sure if i've commented but i'm finally coming around on this. just a really enjoyable listen front to back. no real skips for me.
This album gets better and better, I'm surprised by how many times I reach for it when it's sunny outside. It's like, I never had that "wow" feeling in the beginning, but I can't help but keep putting it on. Don't get tired of it.
Saw their show tonight and thought it was great. Better than I remember them performing in the past but tbh that was so long ago it's hard to recall. It was fun sharing memories with my older sister cause we always went to their shows together. Like the first time we saw them on the truck stops and statelines tour and she snuck her digital camera in the hood of her hoodie cause this was before camera phones were super tiny if they were much of a thing at all and no inside photography was allowed. Security caught her and took the battery out of her camera. Seems so funny now that everyone has a camera out constantly. Also was cool cause we took my nephew who isn't much younger than I was when I started listening to them. Crazy to think the last time we saw them was far before he was born. I tried to get him to wear my Academy Is tour tee from 2007 but he said it smelled weird and I'm like okay sorry it was in the back of my storage as my treasured possession cause it is my literal only band tee that survived my adolescence cause it was otherworldly comfortable so I never got rid of it. I remember wanting to go to williams solo show in PDX but couldn't make it and my sister was pregnant with said nephew so she couldn't go either which means that would've been 12-13 years ago now too. Also crowd didn't pass the vibe check Also I loved bringing my nephew but a piece of me crumbled away that it meant I couldn't go to Williams DJ set at Emo Nite after. I've never gone to one of those but I'd have gone to that one!
Thought they sounded incredible. Will’s voice was super strong. His theatre kid vibes are still strong. Crowd was into the AH songs the most, but the tallest person in the world kept moving in front of me.
It was so cool looking back at my nephew and seeing a look of just wonderment on his face at williams theater kid antics. He said his fave part of the show was when William made eye contact and pointed at him. I was like yas William slaying the hearts of my family generationally
Also was so embarrassing when he tried to engage the crowd to do a bit and people didn't have enough chill to follow along.
I fear my young level of fangirlism I haven't seen since the likes of Myspace and Photobucket may have been unlocked. I kept it cute and demure at the show cause I'm old now so I don't scream and shriek but I may just go down a rabbit hole. Like guys. I had this Almost Here like back to school stationery set I ordered from Fueled by Ramen. It came with folders and pencils. I think it was one of the first things my family ever bought online. My mom made me promise it wasn't a scam trying to steal her card info. I thought I was cool AF. One time I met William at warped tour and I was so shy I didn't know what to do cause I'm an anxious person in general and he gave me a hug and I had a giant pimple by my nose I was trying to cover with my hair which made it even more horribly embarrassing. Do you know how hard it is to cover a pimple by your nose with your hair? I probably looked like Danzig with my hair all aggressive in front of my face. Then we all watched forgive durdens set. Not like together but it's warped so he was just chilling. Just too many memories unlocked lol. It also made me laugh when he called out how his voice cracked and that never happens to him cause I vividly remember seeing them on the Honda Civic tour in 2007 and I've never heard a voice crack live as much as my mans did while reaching for a big note on Snakes on a Plane.
Also I rly wanted to get my 12 year old nephew who was with me a setlist or pic or drumstick or something but the teenage by me was screaming at the crew how tomorrow is her birthday and please give her something and it was so loud and feral and desperate that I feel they avoided our lil section entirely. Also my nephew was not vibing with the openers and he didn't realize how much standing and waiting is involved. I opened my notes app so we could type back and forth cause his phone was dead and he couldn't hear me. He lived for TAI's set tho so he persevered. SMH kids these days. Back in my day we walked 10 miles at warped tour in the blinding sun with no phone or sunscreen or water toughen up lil punk.
“I don’t get how this is fun” made me lol. also two basically dude with guitar sets to open was a little weird. And biggest crowd reaction were by far the covers.
Damn I saw them last year before the new album and I didn’t think they’d rotate so many of the new ones in!
I went to frame my 20 year anniversary poster with the ticket stub from yesterday and my ticket stub from seeing them 20 years ago and I realized I have signatures on the back of the stub from March, 11 2006 in Boise but idk whose signatures these all are cause they're clearly not all from the same band. I spy Ryan Ross but idk anyone else off the top of my head so you all help a sis out. I believe lineup was Academy is headlining and opening was PATD, hellogoodbye and Acceptance? Edit: the one in the corner with the B I'm thinking is Brendon? It's def a PATD autograph but didn't know if it was brendons or brents since Brent was in the band back then
Here's what I can do @Kiana. I got this signed by the whole band at warped 2006 or 2007, so you can at least compare these
