I think because all three of their records are so individual, you get very strong opinions on them. I’m forever team Almost Here, so gimme that all day. I wished I liked Santi because people are nuts over it.
For me, Fast Times was (initially) a disappointment because I didn’t think it measured up to Santi. It grew on me hard though and I wish it would have been more successful for the band.
Almost every time I've visited this website for the past 10 years I have been hoping to see this story. Yesssssssssssss. I enjoyed FTABH, and their last EP, Lost in Pacific Time, was really great. "I'm Yours Tonight" is an all-time classic.
lost in pacific time is so underrated.New York (saint in the city) is another one of their best songs
They pulled an MJ! They should have posted the message as a fax print to really drive it home. Also, all for this. I’ll take an TAI and Yellowcard reunion tour please.
Very happy. During multiple waves of bands coming back over the years, TAI was always one I was hoping for. Same with AFS, and once we got them I was like 'No way we get TAI too.' But here we are. On the subject of albums, I think if anyone takes the time to really listen to The Academy EP and see what the guys had brewing before they got incorporated into the FBR machine there was a lot more depth to be had from this group at one time. That said, AH and Santi were great for me, with FTABH being extremely disappointing. Seed will forever be the best TAI track, fight me. I don't know if they've said, and I don't want to speculate on if we're getting new music or just some touring, but good news is good news either way.
Never understood the hate for Santi. I thought Fast Times was a step back, but still really enjoyed it. Would love to hear a new album from these guys.
I never hated it, I just wish I got it like other TAI fans do. I'll admit I was that guy that wanted them to do Almost Here II, and when I didn't hear that I was bummed. I felt like AH was their sound, their style, their DNA, and Santi wasn't that for me. Maybe one day it'll click with me.
