Do you remember this situation? Maybe I'm missing some pieces because it was over a decade ago. I don't even Remember their usernames.

 

I remember once there was a meetup, and when i found out a certain user would be there, I got the ick. Turned out that same user felt the same when they heard I was showing up lmao. When we finally met, we had the absolute best time weekend together.

Unrelated to the above user, I have an idea of who you're talking about and I still loosely keep in touch with one of them--despite them telling me once that I made terrible threads (they weren't wrong). Couldn't give you usernames; they all burned through multiple accounts

 

Yeah same. I remember one time I made some terrible thread and they were like "ok this officially a spider-man thread now" and everyone just started talking about spider-man instead of whatever my thread was about lol

 

Darr and Mal. Argentine. Mal had a ton of different names and then got banned on here too

I've lost touch with Mal. Idk if he is active on socials, but the last one we would talk on was Twitter when it was actually Twitter. Sometimes Darr shows up on IG, but I don't think he's very active on there. I deleted my Facebook which cut me off from a lot of the og ap.net people.

also I remember winning a contest for a signed cd by the band pink spiders. Pretty sure I was the only one who entered lol. Never got the cd tho. Good times.

 

Hey could be worse...I won a guest list spot for me and a plus one to a Rocky Votolato show. Drove an hour plus and wasn't on the list so I had to end up paying. Eda said she was gonna find a way to make it up to me and never did

 

This is why whenever I ran a contest I always had the physical prize in hand so I could make sure it went out - I don’t think I ever did guest list stuff because - as you found out - it can be unpredictable

 

Every time I hear that story I get bummed out because I didn’t know. Wish I could do something to make up for it.

 

i won a vinyl copy of the black keys’ attack & release and i got it and it would be the first of eventually 500+ records in my collection

 

I won an autographed copy of an Angels and Airwaves cd….when I already had an autographed copy of that same Angels and Airwaves cd. Go figure. Pretty sure that was an APnet contest but idk

 

I won some Atticus shirts that I wore forever
