if by reminiscing you mean having an absolute mind fuck remembering a bunch of bs that used to go down...yeah..sure....
Stumbled upon this thread, and read several of the archived reviews and interviews, brought back so many memories. Not specifically with AbsolutePunk, as I only lurked occasionally at that time, but that era of the internet and how you discovered music. I would spend hours finding as much music as I could and reading up on my favorite bands. The interviews with bands talking about how many friends they had on MySpace was great haha. Made me nostalgic for that time period in music.
Can't believe I didn't know this thread existed and now it's dead. Ain't that the way. People in high school would make fun of me for how much I was on AbsolutePunk. I won Blink tickets through AbsolutePunk.
Anyone know if newfoundnorcal still posts on here under a different name? She was definitely the first person I was friends with on AP lol
If i remember their name right, there was a group of posters who had a blog called ‘Sun on the Sand’ or some shit and turned me on to cool music but i feel like some of them were pretty abusive towards the people who were into more scene stuff.
They could be harsh, but usually only when provoked. Their recommendations/threads definitely helped me expand my horizons a bit @Tim didn't you write for them at one point?
Remember when that ap.net user posted the video of him playing mini golf that ended up going viral? It’s a ghost ball!
This thread brings me back. I was the same username on AP since 04 or 05. I even met up with several forum members in Delaware back in 05. Still friends with a couple of them.
Found this thread for the first time and am reading all of it and was cool to be mentioned. I’m still posting. Next March will be 19 years of posting on Tate’s sites. Wild.
Who was the user who made a fake MySpace band page with a friend to prove a point about auto tuned scene music? I remember people lauded him for it.
