Re-read the Young New England review today for kicks. Thomas nailed it. Whether or not he deserved the pushback from the band, I'm so glad #GFYTN happened. It was a fun couple of months on Twitter.

I gotta reply to this even though I haven’t been keeping up with this site and came back here today only randomly. I was bung on AP and racked up probably 3k posts or so, almost exclusively shitposting and trolling in PL while permanently stoned. I might have even submitted a couple reviews at one point. I do remember I was definitely banned at least once for about a week, and I wish I could remember what it was for. So much of my output was pure cringe, thinking back. This was in like ’05 – ’08.

 

Aw, this thread made me nostalgic for old AP.

 

Not to be too sincere in the wrong place, but what you’re doing is great and necessary, Jason. There’s a whole era just woefully incomplete in the historical record because the sites in which it was documented just got ethered. Glad to see some semblance of recovery for a little corner of art I love at least

I got banned like three times in one day back in 09. IIRC me and one of the old-timers (don't even remember who at this point) got in an argument in the Video Game thread and I linked him to meatspin.

I also remember that when my old band's album got released on Deep Elm and it hit the news feed we were so excited and then cwhit told everyone we purposely wrote a meme into our lyrics and our career was immediately destroyed
