I've not always appreciated what it meant to create a true, cohesive, album, but I feel like that album is a good example of what happens when you don't have that. There are some good songs on there for sure but it definitely plays like a band that has an awkward history and grew as musicians and song writers in two separate directions and then they got together and suddenly tried to write together for the first time in a decade. The two albums after that really made that contrast too. S/T has a decent amount of songs I still like to listen to but they definitely don't all fit together. Which also just makes me madder that they scrapped/didn't use some of the demos instead lol. You Should Have Waited and Macky Sasser especially should have been fleshed out and put on that album IMO.
Definitely agree with everything you said there, and I loove Mackey Sasser. They definitely improved big time when they put out Happiness Is
Slightly fuzzy as well but I remember she was initiating a trip for a bunch of Midwestern AP folks to meet up at Cedar Point and get a hotel room, and told at least 2-3 of the guys that she wanted to sneak off with them in the bathroom of the hotel we’d all share and do all kinds of sex stuff.
