Wow this thread is bringing so much back

My favorite lasting memory of AP is that the only AP member I ever met (that I remember) was @neo506 and he quickly became one of my best friends and still is to this day. I was in his wedding a few years back and he'll be in mine this September

I got banned once for quoting lines from The Untouchables that Sean Connery used a bunch of derogatory terms for Italians in. I was going back and forth with someone and it got silly and ridiculous and I got banned for it. (I think the person I was talking to was Beerforthebear but I don't remembr lol)

Well, I emailed the mod and showed them the quotes from the movie, sorry if it was taken the wrong way, and obviously as you can see from my email address, I am Italian American as fuck (my last name is unmistakably italian in origin). So I got unbanned after not even a full day I think.

I was never banned, but there was a time when I'd get threadbanned fairly often. Jason didn't like me at first... *remembers dumb things said in the past* ...and I, um, have no idea why. Right. Yeah.

Got locked out of I think a couple Say Anything threads during the era when a bunch of us would give Max Bemis shit (I believe it's largely our fault, particularly Dave "The Personist," that they wrote the song "Admit It Again"). Think I got locked out of at least one Brand New thread? Though those moved so fast that it wouldn't have taken long to get back in.

I especially remember getting banned from the Gaslight Anthem thread during this time & having genuinely no idea why. I think I was just talking about not liking American Slang outside of a couple songs, & made maybe one throwaway half-joke about how I'd rather listen to some random, like, Christian pop album or whatever. Think it was just a product of being associated with the people who'd start shit, lol.

Thankfully, I like talking about Spider-Man more than these bands now, & Jason agrees with me enough on that topic to like me! (Or, maybe I just became a better poster, idk.)

 

i think i got temporarily banned for telling *jack appleby* to go fuck himself and then asked thomas or drew to lift it and they did and then jack had a meltdown

 

It's interesting/weird to see and hear all these old staff members that I recognize but don't know the history

I was bad about daring Tate to ban me during heated discussions. He rarely passed on the opportunity

 

Reading this entire thread and I remember most vaguely. I met quite a few California people. One watch party of something and I was introduced by their username haha. I wish I had 1/10 of the memory you all do. I don't even remember my username I used.

I lurked for like 6 or 7 years before I even started posting lol. Most of the users scared me.

 

Yeah, I was pretty intimidated and didn’t see many women so I didn’t post! Had an account though

 

Reading through some of this was such a trip. Shit.
