Great thread. I forgot about a lot of these moments. I was mostly a lurker, but miss the AP craziness. #GFYTN I never knew this. This makes me both very happy and very sad. There was plug.dj/Party DJ around 2013. There are a few smaller ones in development that are trying to create a 1 for 1 clone of TTFM, but JQBX is the dominant player with a very nice experience and Spotify integration. The PPRAE community lives on there, for those that remember.
everyone forgot my feud with transit's producer who cyberbullied me because i said his autotune work was bad
tim landers owed me 75 bucks for a while, when that was an amount of money i kinda needed, and was a dick about getting it back to me but now i feel bad rip
what the eff very on brand with him. i feel like you and Willie are the few who could get him to say anything.
Ah, gotcha. Yeah, only supporters can "login" on the main website. Because when you're logged in there are no ads displayed, you get all your notifications, and it remembers your theme preference. So the login for the 'main' website portion is for supporters only, but the forum is 'separate' in that regard. I should probably see about adding a little blurb there when it knows you're logged in via the forum.
It's funny reading through this thread, because I remember virtually all of this stuff. Some of it, oof, so bad. Even more better left unmentioned. For as much as I find the nostalgia fun and the reminiscing a funny walk through memory lane, o'boy do I not miss everything else. It makes the flair-ups around here seem like absolute childs play (dot net).
I mean I just cringe when thinking about that time of my life/how much of an insufferable douche I was. That said, lots of stuff I laugh at now… mostly just how much crap I would get for posting all the Fearless Records band news from all the users. At one point, I taught my friend at Fearless how to write the news posts/code because while I was happy to do it, I had a full-time job and this was on the side. I think they were just happy to have a way to get on the news postings. Matt and I went to middle/high school together, and ironically it wasn't until I did Warped Tour in 2007 (running the AbsolutePunk booth) that I actually realized Matt was in a band. We both saw each other and flashed a look of "hey you look familiar" and I remember saying "you look like this guy I went to high school with… Matt Wilson… but surely I'd know if he was in a band." Oh my god. YES. Aren't you a friend of Paul's as well? I still get together with Paul to this day whenever I'm in LA (but it's been a little bit, we still keep in touch though, if I ever get married he'll be there.) I'm embarrassed to admit I read through ALL 23 pages. PS: congrats on your upcoming wedding!
Some stuff I found in my library really quick… the design of our Warped Tour 2007 booth (we partnered with Capitol/EMI.) Also, Hayley Williams and Paramore signing at our booth – they had emailed us asking if they could do a signing and I was like "wait, you're asking US and not the other way around?" They were very nice. I really have to find the videos we shot for the site.
yeah I’ll be real honest very few of my memories of ap are positive. like I said all the positivity comes from the awesome people I’ve met
Nahhh, I was certainly friendLY with him, but only ever met him once in real life. He was super nice and got me to meet Andrew McMahon though so I'm forever grateful
Please tell me you still have the photos of those Fall Out Boy booty shorts we sent around to make a calendar…
Oh there's definitely a video from the day Paul and I spent in the studio with Andrew when he was recording Glass Passenger. I almost burnt the studio to the ground because we had been passing around a blunt, and I thought it was extinguished and tossed it in the trash… it wasn't. Whoops.
Found some more photos… Paul snuggling up with my cat, and a few photos from that day in the studio with Andrew.
@Jonathan those photos are AMAZING. And actually, now that I think about it... were you at the booth for Bamboozle Left when Andrew was doing a signing, did I briefly meet you there also?
