The Absolute Punk Thread Genre

Thread for punk that isn't quite pop-punk. All the classics like The Stooges, Ramones, Black Flag, Sex Pistols, Damned, Buzzcocks, X, and The Clash. Along with more recent bands like Against Me, Pup, Dirty Nil, Anti-Flag, and Titus Andronicus. Find them to be much better than pop-punk. Discuss.

 

Been on a TBR kick lately

 

never really listened to them, i'll check that out

 

This is probably my favorite punk record of the decade

 

hard to top the monitor for me, though they lost the plot pretty hard. i did like a few songs off the most recent TA album though.

yeah, i wasn’t sure if they were too close to hardcore, but they’re absolutely my favorite punk band of the decade

glass boys rules too

 

it is really crazy how perfect that album is and how mediocre to laughable everything is that followed

 

Does anyone listen to any crust punk? Got any suggestions?

also, anyone check out the X reunion album yet? I haven't, a little wary even though it seems to have been well-received

it’s nothing like the classic stretch, but not many albums are. it’s decent enough

totally, they had great stuff. im p sure it's just the singer who's into that, never heard anything about it from the rest of the band. just to not paint them as a monolith here
