The most egregious part of my emo teenage years was how I crushed on the same guy for 4 years and thought if only he could love me then my life would just be fine.

Had to let a couple of friends like this go in recent years. Sucks so much but I realized it's not worth the energy expended to keep toxic people in my life, especially when they seem like they don't want to be there. Glad you're making the better choice for you.
