Lol. There was a time when I was pulling all-nighters once or twice a week with a drummer, trying to self-record full-band stuff via trial and error. I learned a lot but I'm still not good enough to actually self-record. The best we ever did was make two demos that sounded amazing but we never put vocals on top because we couldn't do my voice justice.

as much as I like DIY sounding music, I need my stuff to be on point. My music has a lot of detail so recording lo-fi doesn't really work, it just sounds like a mess lol.
