Sinners (so far) is the second best movie I saw in 2025, so happy it got a ton of nominations, but realistically its only shot at a 'major' award is probably screenplay and it probably won't even win that.

Although I didn't expect him to, it's still a bummer that Plemmons didn't get a nom for Best Actor. He was sensational in Bugonia.

Hamnet good. Third act made me cry.

Only one I need to see is sung song blue and I’m probably not gonna do that.

 

Gotta see Hamnet and Secret Agent. Feel pretty comfortable skipping Song Sung Blue

Bummer not to see Panahi in BP or Directing, I still need to see it.

 

Don't skip on docs nominees guys. The Perfect Neighbor (Netflix) and The Alabama Solution (HBO Max) are worth your time.

Biggest snub outside of Chase is obviously Eddington. They aren't ready for it.

I haven't seen shit. I've only seen Sinners and One Battle out of the BPs. Lot of catching up to do. Upside is that there are still good movies to watch, usually I only have the dregs to sift through.

of the best picture nominees, not really. frankenstein and f1 are bad but not that bad. there are some in other categories that are real stinkers though.

I think with F1 and Kosinski is that if you successfully bring people into the theatres for an original event film nowadays the Academy is gonna love you and reward you for it.
