Also The Devil Is Busy which is nominated for Doc Short is on Max and it's also really good.

 

Also Hamnet for original score? That shit has been used in like a dozen other movies

 

Thought I watched a lot of Oscar films this year but I guess I still need to see: Marty Supreme, The Secret Agent, F1, Train Dreams, Sentimental Value, Frankenstein, and Blue Moon.

 

Sirat for Sound is a well deserved nomination.

Sinners most nominated movie in history!?

Nothing for No Other Choice or Sorry, Baby is a bummer.

No Marty Supreme score nom is very odd.

Thank god Train Dreams got the Cinematography nod.

Surprised 2,000 Meters to Andriivka didn’t get a nom since Mariupol won a few years ago.

Tim Key deserved an acting nom for Wallis Island.

Would have been cool to see an animated film for adults (Killer of Killers) get nominated.

Shocked by Chase Infiniti getting left out for One Battle.

Indy the Dog was robbed for Good Boy.

Wicked: For Good found dead in ditch.

Not really a ton of variety in terms of the movies nominated.

 

I'm ready to storm the Capitol for No Other Choice

 

Chase Infiniti not getting in is just bizarre/sucks.

 

Dylan O’ Brien should have gotten a nomination for Twinless.

 

Justice for Eddington and Ari Aster.

 

Also, Wicked: For Good lol.

For how good of a year it was, the noms list feels slightly…boring? Subdued? Idk

 

I know I shouldn't listen to Gold Derby. So many "experts" had Ariana winning or tied for supporting actress. She isn't even nominated lol

Blue Moon is good. Feels very much like a play and Ethan Hawke is excellent

 

I remember having a conversation last year with someone who sincerely thought that both Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande were going to be nominated again this year and probably win, in a kind of Return of the King situation. I...disagreed with them.

 

- Boo to no Marty Supreme score nod
(If Babylon and Challengers can win the golden globe but not even get nominated for the Oscar this shouldn’t surprise me but still)

- No NIN Tron score or original song is disappointing but certainly not surprising or even expected

- Big yay for all the Bugonia nods!

- One Battle should sweep but very surprised at the record breaking Sinners nods so who knows

- Biggest thrill for me is Wagner Moura officially a best actor Oscar nominee, he is truly a sincere nice and super talented and very deserving guy after working with him for a project (but I know it’s timothee’s to lose)

Blue Moon is good

 

I liked F1 and am happy to see it get 4 noms. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

 

F1 was a fun theater experience. It is not even close to best picture of the year.
