Sinners should have a nice moment at SAG, and then it's PTA city. I'm not mad about it.

Amy Madigan won best supporting actress too, feels like all the acting categories except actress are up in the air

 

That's a wild win. He is so much worse in Sinners than the other three that I saw. I can't imagine he's better than Hawke either.

 

Hawke might be the best of the bunch

 

I think the best actor race is a very strong 5 where I wouldn’t be mad about any of those wins

 

I think it’s MBJ’s best performance while still not being a very good one. Or, rather, not a super dynamic one. He almost always has three volumes that he shifts between with not much between them

 

Friday Night Lights? The Wire?

 

The oscars don’t award television performances ooty. Sure. I guess I could have clarified. He’s a movie star now. I wasn’t referring to stuff he did nearly 15 years ago, if not longer, in a different medium.

 

I like him enough as an actor but there is nothing award winning about that performance, especially compared to the stuff Leo, Timmy, and Plemons are doing.

 

Feels like they’re putting Joaquin on ice for a bit after joker but he’s another one from Eddington over that performance

I don't feel good shitting on Sinners as much as I am probably going to. It's cool to see a film like that get taken seriously at the Oscars. I just wish it were a better film.

I'm definitely going to watch Hamnet this week. I'll maybe do If I Had Legs..., It Was Just an Accident, and The Secret Agent before the ceremony.
