Was Bohemian Rhapsody that bad? All my friends who saw it said it was good.

 

How I feel about that winner.

 

Amandla is a force. She was phenomenal in THUG.

 

John Mulaney is younger than Rami Malek. This hurts my brain for some reason.

 

That film is most definitely NOT washed in the blood of the lamb.

 

John Lewis!

 

At least Singer wasn’t thanked once during the four BR wins.

 

And the Live Aid thing is interesting. Definitely impressive from a technical standpoint, but they butcher the set up and ending a movie with what’s essentially a concert just reinforces to me they wanted to make a feature length music video.

It’s offensively bad.

 

That’s almost worse. Like everyone knows that he shouldn’t be rewarded but not enough to actually do anything about it.

 

Heh, I watched The Hate U Give the other day. Should be taking Green Book's place in these noms, if nothing else

 

I enjoyed it. I didn’t like the trailers so that helped.

 

I have some ideas for people she can throw out in the trash.

 

It essentially feels like they adapted the summary section of the Queen wikipedia page (not even the in-depth stuff - just the intro blurb) and interjected it with music videos

 

Every time I need a laugh I think about the tour montage and fonts they throw at the screen.

 

No. It’s a fine movie. If this dumb awards show didn’t exist/nominate it people wouldn’t talk about it at all. Not hated, but not beloved.

 

Joaquin Phoenix was good in You Were Never Really Here as well.

On another note

How are we still gonna go over three hours?

 

I turn off *very* few movies.

I turned it off. I found it unwatchable in a “this is a bad tv show” kind of way.

(And fuck Brian Singer.)

 

Roma was amazing, Yalitza's performance was so special.

 

Okay, I did think “wtf” when those appeared. I felt like the movie was laughing at itself.

 

It is, in fact, a genuinely very bad movie. It is extremely watchable tho

BR and GB are problematic yet enjoyable crowd pleasers. Not worthy of BP nominee status
