completely agree. and it would drive me nuts people saying Gosling's performance wasn't interesting. he was being Neil, very reserved. and not even a nom for Claire Foy?? she was fantastic. gonna pick it up in 4k today and watch it on my projector while I wallow in my frustration haha
I’m honestly upset Johansson’s score isn’t in there for Mandy and hereditary didn’t get anything while green book got 10 noms, but besides that.... Yeah it’s a mess I can’t defend this
Oof at the Beale Street snub Yay for no Farrelly directing nom No First Man for Original Score is bad Overall...pretty lackluster list for BP.
holy fuck Burning didn't even get a nom for Best Foreign lmao First Reformed getting one nom that it will not win brilliant stuff here
Pulling for Roma, favourite, and a star is born. Suspirium for song, Hurwitz for score, and annihilation for sound were huge snubs in my opinion. Also, driver over Chalamet is a big no for me. Glad Melissa McCarthy got the nom though. Surprised at how many people enjoyed BlackkKlansman, honestly.
Johansson wasn’t eligible, Mandy didn’t play in theaters long enough before VOD or some dumb bullshit
I thought Won't You Be My Neighbor would get a doc nom for sure. Was hoping for a Three Identical Strangers nom as well.
This makes sense but it still upsets me so much, I listen to that soundtrack like a record. My girlfriend and I are now on hour two of complaining about these nominees, and it really doesn’t seem like we’re stopping anytime soon.
Farrelly and Cooper snubs make it look like this is Roma’s to lose, with maybe The Favourite as a potential spoiler
Crazy that Cuaron has like a very high chance of winning both Best Director and Best Cinematography for the same film. What an immensely talented individual.
Minding the Gap is my favorite of the year, glad to see it get a nod. No Burning for Foreign Language, and no Ethan Hawke is crazy. Miss me entirely with Green Book and Bohemian Rhapsody.
i gotta find the time to watch at least SOME of these. Gotta have a dog in the race. Roma, Green Book, Vice, Blackklansman, and Star is Born are on the queue. I'll see Bohemian when it's on TV one day and it's raining...or like...a plane. The Favourite doesn't look like it's for me? never really heard of it ^ ah; it's from the lobster guy.... trailer looks actually great. Okay toss it on the queue too
The Favourite was enjoyable, but not my favorite. And I tend to stay away from those pre-1900 european royalty dramas
