call me a snob since i make score-esque music, and i like desplat’s best work, but i don’t get that hype behind the fairly pedestrian shape score

 

Hey, this is a pretty good song. Haven't heard it yet.

 

Personally, aside from Jonny's, The Shape of Water's score was the one I ended up coming back to the most after seeing the actual movie out of the five, but I do think it's pretty safe for what it is.

 

Speaking of scores, recently got the Lady Bird soundtrack

Lady Bird definitely did have good music

 

See, they complain that the show takes too long because of acceptance speeches and then they show these unnecessary montages. Like, come on.

 

Wow that montage was fantastic

 

Lady Bird is one of the many reasons I think we need something to recognize old songs in movies, Crash Into Me is a character in the story just like Sacramento

Baby Driver deserved that more than three Dunkirks put together

 

Blade Runner should win both sound awards, but I picked Dunkirk for both.

 

Boo. Any chance for Williams for TLJ score?

 

I had Baby Driver for Editing and Dunkirk for Mixing.

Really hoping Baby gets Film Editing now but I have a feeling it's going to go to Dunkirk.

 

Baby Driver too edgy for Oscars.
