Get Out Phantom Thread Call Me By Your Name Lady Bird The Shape of Water Dunkirk Three Billboards Probably won't watch the other two.
I just saw Shape of Water and it was fine, but I'm like this has the most nominations? It got real silly for a bit in there. Lady Bird still my best picture pick, I'll keep seeing more
It benefited from some of technical categories in terms of garnering the most noms. I’ve said it before Lady Bird is my fav but cheering for Shape since it has the best chance of winning
I haven’t been able to see many films this year, only Get Out so far for the BP nominees. But I did just see Hostiles and it having 0 nominations is possibly the biggest snub I’ve ever seen.
I disagree. Who overacted? I saw that elsewhere and I just don’t see how that could be said. A mess? I don’t think so. I would love to see a few more of the films from this years nominees to compare.
Through the whole first act Rosamund Pike was overacting the hell out of her grief. This was three films shoved together. The problematic murderous native gang being set up as the main threat, then being dispatched almost immediately was the first. Then you had the weird section with them escorting the outlaw, who ended up escaping and dying offscreen, then them scrambling at the end and literally having a convenient ending walk up out of nowhere. Easily the least enjoyable movie I've seen in theaters in a long long time Edit: Dunkirk is one I would highly recommend checking out when it comes back to theaters shortly. That's a film that really needs a good sound system to be appreciated fully
How in the world could you overact that kind of grief... I mean... I’m kind of stunned right now. That may be the craziest thing I’ve heard about a film in quite some time. And I also disagree with your rundown of the film. It all worked very well together. I don’t think it was disjointed like that at all. But hey opinions and all that. No worries.
