I too am curious as to how this happened but damn..twitter acting like Warren gave the envelope containing the nuclear codes to Vladimir Putin.
I'm with you. OCL was my 2014 album of the year. Gospel would've been my 2011 if Suburbia hadn't also come out that year.
If "Beautiful Ride" from "Walk Hard" didn't get an Oscar nom, there's no way any song from a similarly theme musical comedy like "Popstar" stood a remote chance.
The Academy is so lucky this happened because it'll overshadow the fact that they gave an award to human shitpile sexual abuser Casey affleck
Hey, we're best friends again, I'm not gonna let that get in the way! (No, but seriously, someone take that damn phone away)
@Jason Tate your next movie beer should be anything from Alvarado Street. Best IPAs I've had in years.
-That last few minutes was some of the craziest shit I've ever seen on live television. I can't help but feel like this might unfortunately be Moonlight's legacy though. - I love Emma Stone very much - La La Land was a fantastic movie and the backlash is getting very fucking annoying - Jimmy Kimmel did a pretty good job. Not the best ever but not the worst. The Kimmel/Damon stuff kills me every single time - I had no idea there was controversy/allegations about Casey Affleck until tonight. Had not heard about it at all, which is very unfortunate - The thought didn't even occur to me until I just read it in here but holy shit I would have given anything for Mona Lisa from Popstar to have been nominated and for Samberg to have performed that Those are all the thoughts I can think of right now. As always, the show was too long but I always genuinely enjoy the Oscars
I feel like there is a double blow when it comes to Casey Affleck. Nate Parker was in a similar situation and it sunk Birth of a Nation. Affleck is a white dude who saw almost no backlash from the allegations. Yeaaah, Oscars, I see you trying not to be so white but that sends a pretty loud msg if you ask me.
I though Casey Afflecks performance in MBTS was amazing, was natural, effortless and moving. Deserved the award controversy aside My favourite film of the 4 noms I saw. Gonna work on seeing the rest this month
Celebrated as much as an awards show merits for the people and art I wanted to win. Now it's 02:33 and reverse racism still doesn't exist and Casey Affleck can go fuck himself. edit:
