Isn't Arrival done by Max Richter? Going off memory here cuz I remember hearing the same song on I think Shutter Island. Either way, I loved it.
The other guy was amazingly gracious. But I can understand that guy being grumpy. You've just had the greatest moment of your life taken from you embarrassingly in front of millions. Like how I understood James hetfields guitar throw after the Grammys. He could've handled it better. But I understand.
I think you're the only person in here that shares my immense love and passion for that movie, so I'll just say HOLY SHIT I AM SO HAPPY IT WON FOR WHAT IT WON. Well deserved, awesome movie, incredibly happy.
oh ok. looked it up and I guess the beginning song and ending song in Arrival is by Max Richter. Thought I was going nuts for a second cuz I've had that song on my sleep playlist for years haha.
Fine you want diversity, each race is allowed to win 1 award each, boom. /sarcasm We are all humans, let's just see which human wins best "insert category here". Why do we have to care about the color of their skin? Does every race have to be equally represented by the number of wins they get? If all the other races start winning more, do we complain that there needs to be more diversity and white representation? I don't want that. I just want the best to win, no matter the color of their skin.
I like how the caption doesn't even have all exclamation points and just ends in a series of 1's and slashes.
Yeah, give the Arrival score a listen, it's supremely unsettling at times and really fits the film perfectly. Should've been nominated (and I would've been cool with it winning, too).
I'm the weird guy that loved lots of movies last year and am happy for all the ones I loved that won things. And sad Sing Street didn't get any love cause I still love that movie too.
Studios need to hire more creatives of color, produce more movies about people of color, and award shows need to recognize more works about people of color. Right now they all prioritize white movies because of preconceived notions about what movies do well and what movies make money. It's a math equation. If you want more diversity in movies and awards, it means less white people. Not that it all has to fit a quota. Just that they need to do better than they're currently doing. Sometimes white people will be deserving. Sometimes they won't be.
Still fuming that Drive It Like You Stole It didn't get an Original Song nomination. As much as I love La La Land, it's better than "City of Stars," haha.
My point is, race should have nothing to do with it. The best director should win best director. He shouldnt need to clarify because his first post should've been " so and so should've won because they were better", not "so and so should've won to keep the non white streak alive". Im not saying he is racist, and on that subject, reverse racism is such a stupid term. Racism is racism, it doesn't have direction... it's not one way towards a person of color and one way towards a white person. It's just racism.
Apparently there are two sets of envelopes. So Stone may have had one of them. Then the second somehow got in Warren's hands.
Fireworks are overrated and kinda bad. Bad acting music script effects story plot acting and set design. (I'm drinking ignore me.)
Was just about to check it out! The composers name was really familiar, I think he's come up on my discover weekly on spotify since I have so much ambient stuff on my playlists. I'm not too in the loop with movie composers in general though.
