The takes in here are so hot right now. Drew's got crying Jordan we got Warriors jokes. Pop culture is exploding in every meme.
Craziness!! Really was hoping for Hacksaw or Hell or Highwater even though they had no shot. Also loved Lion.
How about it'll be nice to have a streak of best directors winning best director, with skin color having nothing to do with it.
1. Holy shit. 2. La La Land won everything I was really passionate about it winning (Director, Actress, Score, Cinematography) 3. HOLY SHIT. 3. La La Land and Moonlight were the two best films of 2016, and it's cool they both got to give speeches. 5. H O L Y S H I T ! ! ! ! Super happy for Moonlight!
1.) I get that it's impossible to put myself in their shoes but the dude who said into the mic on live tv "We lost by the way"... wow 2.) Watching the clip of it happening again and looking at Warren Beatty during all of it is hard to watch 3.) I actually thought the guy from La La Land who had to announce the mistake was kinda a little pretentious about it in a "look how nice I am" kinda way and wouldn't let the actually presenters or host step in and explain what actually happened; it seemed like he was trying to shoo everyone away and it was like no relax lol...but maybe I'm a cynical jerk Edit: don't get me wrong he was super nice about it that was just kinda my immediate reaction
Twas a good call. Bunch of movies I liked won awards. And I didn't even have to whine on twitter about it. Was a good night. Now back to a very bad movie we're watching while drinking. 'Passengers' sucks. Don't see it.
I'm sure that makes POC feel great about their achievements, that the academy voted for them not for their skills but for their skin color.
I seem to have struck a nerve and my subsequent post has done nothing to allay those emotions. Don't know what else to tell you.
That is not how I saw it at all. He wanted to get it right as soon as possible. At least that's how it looked to me.
There is no way this was intentional. Way too rude to the La La Land people. Everyone was making Steve Harvey jokes on twitter right after it happened too its completely reasonable for people there to have the same idea.
So so so very happy that a stellar and beautiful super low budget film featuring a completely black cast about queerness is a best picture winner. Beautiful. An incredible film.
No, like, at first I thought he was white-knighting and was groaning, like "ugh, he's really telling them to get up on stage with him?" In retrospect he was just the one at the mic and was honestly trying to explain what happened and couldn't get the right words out probably because of how outrageous the situation was.
