Damn, what is everyone going to criticize the Academy for now that they actually gave Best Picture to the Best Picture?
Faye Dunaway sabotaged him. She was like "get on with it", looking all innocent, while she quietly staged one of the biggest gaffes in awards history.
yeah his behavior (looking in the envelope for another card, general awkwardness) totally makes sense from confused by what they saw on their card. Doubt he is at fault here.
Think of all the poor souls who probably went to bed thinking La La Land won best picture. They are n for a surprise in the morning
Lol fair. I was using that term the way the guy grabbed the card and showed the audience who really won (but that was a la la Land white guy). Oh shush. You know what I meant.
Really annoyed that they gave Chazelle Best Director now. Well, more annoyed than I already was. Would've been nice to keep alive the 4-year streak of non-white directors winning.
If I lived on the east coast I'd probably have been one of those people. Turned it off in a fit of "meh" as soon as the winner was announced only to come to the thread and see people freaking out.
Yay for lots of good movies and good people winning awards. Boo for the bad people. Yay for a "moment" I've never seen. Crazy.
Can we stop with all these hot takes acting like La La Land was terrible now that it lost? Both it and Moonlight are great and both would be/are deserving. I'm always confused why one movie winning means the others have to be viewed as trash instead of 1a and 1b
Kudos to Jordan horowitz for recognizing his film didn't win and graciously and clearly explaining. Can't imagine how surreal an experience that is
