There were two cards in the envelope, one of which said "Emma Stone - La La Land" and the other said Moonlight? That makes so sense at all.

 

Warren Beaty didn't have the right card, he read La La Land as best picture because he had the Emma Stome card

 

There was a mix up and moonlight actually won.
