If you haven't checked out much of the replacements stuff and enjoy that I'd seriously recommend checking out anything from let it be through to when they split up. That band has a ridiculous back catalog.
This thread has gone on too long without mentioning The Smiths. The only music from the 80's you need to hear. (HOLY HYPERBOLE, BATMAN!)
Thank you. I love that song. But, I don't think that song is close to being my favorite. So much good stuff from them.
I just grabbed the first video I saw haha. I do need to listen to The Smiths more though, goal for the year.
As far as 80's bands that I truly adore, I got give it to New Order as being one of the most influential for me. Peter Hook's bass playing on those records continues to have a lasting influence on my own playing style on bass.
Decided to listen for the first time a bunch of singles by The Cars I had never heard of before. Magic, Why Can't I Have You, Hello Again and Tonight She Comes are so good.
Been listening to The Midnight's "Endless Summer" album in my car non-stop since Friday; feels like I'm driving my white Lamborghini Countach at night through the streets of Miami. Love it
this thread was made for me. watched adventureland again the other day, the soundtrack is absolutely amazing.
